Strawberry Lime Gin & Tonic Recipe

Summer is on its way! Here’s a recipe for a Strawberry Lime Gin & Tonic that will quench your thirst on a hot day.

Craft a refreshing cocktail using our Tonic Water Flavouring Kit and our Profile Range Red Fruits flavouring. A gin-based cocktail with vibrant flavouring blend of raspberry and strawberry with a fresh, sweet, and fruity red berry-fruit aroma, and ripe, jammy notes. Complimented with citrus undertones.

Our recipe covers large batch creation by kegging or make smaller amounts using a soda maker.

Find the kegging equipment and ingredients at your local home brew shop.

Equipment for kegging

•       Kegerator system with CO2 cylinder

•       Corny keg (19L)

Equipment for using a soda maker

•       Soda maker unit with >250g cylinder

•       Soda maker bottle (1L)

•       A sealable bucket or jerrycan with a tap (>20L capacity)

Ingredients

•       Filtered water (19L)

•       Tonic Water Flavouring Kit

•       2.25L of 40% a citrus-based gin

•       Profile Range Red Fruits – Raspberry & Strawberry Flavouring

•       Strawberries

•       Lime

 

Steps for soda maker

  1. Ensure the jerry can or bucket is cleaned and sanitised.
  2. Add 3L of filtered water to the corny keg or bucket.
  3. Add the Tonic Water Flavouring Kit to the corny keg or bucket, swirl (with lid closed) or stir to dissolve the tonic flavouring.
  4. Add 10ml Profile Range Red Fruits – Raspberry & Strawberry Flavouring.
  5. Top up to 19L with filtered water.

Please follow the next instructions closely to save you wasting tonic and some cleaning

  1. Fill the soda maker bottle (1L) with tonic water.
  2. Install the filled soda maker bottle into the unit.
  3. Press the button quickly for a short burst.
  4. Important: Wait until the bubbles have settled.
  5. Quickly press the button again for a short burst.
  6. Important: Wait until the bubbles have settled.
  7. Repeat until the soda machine releases the pressure indicating the correct carbonation.
  8. Add a shot of gin to a tall glass with ice.
  9. Fill the glass with carbonated tonic water.
  10. Serve with slices of strawberry & lime and enjoy.
  11. Consume your newly made tonic water within 3 weeks of making.

 

Steps for kegging

  1. Add 3L of filtered water to the corny keg.
  2. Add the Tonic Water Flavouring Kit to the corny keg or bucket, swirl (with lid closed) or stir to dissolve the tonic flavouring.
  3. Add 10ml Profile Range Red Fruits – Raspberry & Strawberry Flavouring.
  4. Add 2.25L of gin to the keg.
  5. Top up to 19L with filtered water.
  6. Force carbonate at 4°C and 15psi for 2 weeks.
  7. Serve with slices of strawberry & lime and enjoy.
